I first visited Stockholm, Wisconsin, in 2010 and fell in love with it. The drive there was stunning, the Lake Pepin beautiful and the town so appealing. Did i metion pie? Lemon Meringue . . . ! Anyway, I know I had to paint it, and once I started I realized this could turn into a series of paintings and an exhibit. Abode Gallery are going to host the show May 13th,14th, 15th 2011. I will spend the day at the gallery on the Saturday. There the original paintings will be on sale, but also I hope that the prints will be on sale around Stockholm in years to come. About Giclee Printing
The Definition : Giclee (zhee-klay) - The French word "giclée" means a spray or a spurt of liquid.
The Term : The term "giclee print" connotes an elevation in printmaking technology. Images are generated from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks onto various substrates including canvas, fine art, and photo-base paper. The giclee printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction.
The Quality : The quality of the giclee print rivals traditional silver-halide and gelatin printing processes and is commonly found in museums, art galleries, and photographic galleries.
Paintings which have prints available have the words "Prints available" underneath the painting in the relevant 'Works' category.
